About

It is a novelty right up until a child picks it up.

Customized Rubber Ducks makes bath ducks to order — printed stock bodies, fully custom moulds, sealed no-hole ducks, numbered race ducks, themed costume ducks and giant display ducks.

Custom printed rubber ducks with logo

A rubber duck gets bought as a promotional item and used as a toy. Those are two different regulatory worlds, and the gap between them is where most suppliers quietly sit.

Anything a child can get hold of — and at a family fun run, a swimming pool or a village fete, a child absolutely will — needs to meet toy safety standards: phthalates in the vinyl, heavy metals in the paint, small parts, and an age grading. That is EN 71 in Europe and ASTM F963 and CPSIA in the United States.

So every duck we quote comes with an age grading and current test reports, supplied with the order rather than produced if somebody asks. It costs us nothing to do properly and it is the whole difference between a giveaway and a liability.

Why we exist

Ducks are ordered once, in a hurry, by somebody running an event, from suppliers who quote on colour and print position.

So the logo washes off in the first bath. The squeaking ducks go black inside within months. Somebody sells a mould to a customer ordering five hundred units who will never recover the tooling. And nobody has any paperwork when a parent asks a reasonable question about what is in the paint.

The hole decides everything

A duck that squeaks has a hole in its base. That hole is also how bathwater gets in: squeeze the duck under water and it draws water inside, where it sits warm and dark.

The black specks that come out of an old bath duck are mould, and that is where they grow. A fully sealed no-hole duck cannot take on water and cannot ever grow anything inside — and cannot squeak or squirt. There is no product that does both, and anyone who tells you otherwise is describing two different ducks. We would rather you chose that trade deliberately than discover it in a year.

The mould tool is the cost, so we quote it separately

A custom-shaped duck needs its own steel tool. That is a genuine one-off cost, and on a small run it dwarfs everything else.

We show tooling as its own line so the arithmetic is visible, and we will say plainly when your volume does not earn it — a dressed and printed stock body gets most of the effect for a fraction of the outlay. If you do tool, we hold the mould, so every reorder afterwards carries no tooling at all.

What we actually make

Printed classic ducks on stock bodies. Fully custom moulds for a shape that is only yours. Sealed no-hole ducks for pools, nurseries and clinics. Sequentially numbered race ducks weighted to stay upright in a current. Themed costume ducks with accessories moulded in rather than glued on. And giant display ducks weighted for public spaces.

All of it age graded, all of it with test reports.

How we price

No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with size, body, decoration, tooling and quantity, and it falls steeply into the thousands. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one.

What we will talk you out of

A custom mould at five hundred units. A dark brand colour on race ducks that have to be spotted on dark water. Loose accessories on a toy for small children.

Every one of those costs us money to say and saves you more.
